Star Wars Holiday Special (1978)
The Wrong Film Club is back! Just in time for Christmas, they are delighted to announce a screening of the one Star Wars film you might not have seen before…
It’s Life Day, and Wookiees all over the galaxy are celebrating in style. All except Chewbacca and his family. With Chewie and Han Solo interrupted by the Galactic Empire on their way to Kashyyyk, his father, wife and son are fraught with anguish! Only a series of special guests, variety turns and Jefferson Starship can save the day! Originally broadcast on American television in 1978, and never repeated since, this film has gone down in Hollywood infamy as one of the worst film-to-television specials ever made, and kept locked away in the vaults. But thanks to the magic of the internet, and some surreptitious VHS bootleggers, the whole thing will be shown for the Wrong Film Club’s second Christmas special!
Yes! This is free entry, but booking is recommended. And in the spirit of Christmas, please consider making a donation to charity on the night.
Yes! There will be special guests!
Yes! This is the night before The Last Jedi is released.
Yes! You’ll have time to see this before the midnight screenings.
Yes! There will be another Wrong Film Club Secret Santa! (Please don’t spend more than a pound. If you give a gift, you will get a gift!)
Note: This event will take place in one of the Learning Studios at Firstsite, rather than the auditorium. Though the film is suitable for all ages, the event will feature live comedy and commentary on the film, which is suitable for adults only.
