Creativity Matters: Conflict and Culture

Creativity Matters: Conflict and Culture is a series of public talks throughout February and March which will explore the themes and stories behind Firstsite’s Conflict and Culture artistic programme.

A reaction to the current social and political climate and the resulting divisions and unease experienced locally and nationally, Firstsite’s 2018/19 programme examines tensions and confrontations throughout history, and where these lie within our culture.

Our Creativity Matters series brings together stories, experiences and insight. From the witch persecutions of East Anglia in the 17th century, to modern day war zones and everyday struggles of communities to achieve equality, our eclectic programme of speakers will explore the many types of conflict and their impact on cultural identities, behaviours and values.
