Brave New Words is a collection of fifteen specially commissioned essays from distinguished authors exploring the value of critical thinking, the power of the written word, and the resonance of literature in the twenty-first century.

Editor, literary activist, writer and presenter, Susheila Nasta will be joined by Nigerian-German contributor and novelist, Olumide Popoola to discuss the crucial place of the writer, past and present.

Essex Book Festival is one of the highlights of the Essex cultural calendar. Each March it hosts over 100 events in over 45 venues across the county, including theatres, libraries, schools, universities, cafes and art galleries. Find out more: www.essexbookfestival.org.uk.
