Shelley is the scheme manager of a local family support charity, Home-Start Colchester Jaywick and Clacton. During the pandemic Shelley managed a team of staff to provide families in financial and emotional need with emergency parenting, befriending calls and essential items such as food, baby packs, and washing packs.

Shelley contributed to the Firstsite exhibition ‘Art for Life’. The exhibition was the fascinating result of a number of workshops with artists and people in frontline roles in the health and care sectors which examined their experiences of the pandemic and the subsequent effects on their lives.
