Accessibility in our building

We want you to enjoy your visit to Firstsite, we offer a range of facilities but our team are always happy to help with any further requirements, please contact us or visit our welcome desk on arrival should you require any further assistance or information.

Firstsite is situated on street level with step-free, level access throughout. A wheelchair is available (on a first come, first served basis). Our cinema has two wheelchair spaces and the front row also has step-free access.

Assistance dogs are welcome.

Personal Assistants are offered a free ticket for any session when accompanying a person with disabilities – please contact us on 01206 713700 to book your tickets.

Accessible Parking

There is a drop-off point for cars and coaches, this is accessible from Lewis Gardens – cars can pull in just in front of the bollards for a maximum of 5 minutes.

Four accessible parking bays are available next to the Firstsite entrance.

These are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

To access these please drive down Queen Street and take the first turning after the Curzon cinema and then drive up and right, past the front entrance and the spaces will be on your right.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building.

 

Baby Changing

We have two baby changing units which are located in the blue and yellow accessible toilets.

 

Cloakroom

We offer cloakroom facilities for coats and luggage, these are available from our front desk. There is no charge to leave any items, however donations are gratefully received. 

 

First Aid

There are first aid boxes located around the building and our Duty Managers are trained in Emergency First Aid.

 

Food and Drink

Refreshments are available in the café located at the back of our building. Please don’t take food or drink into the exhibition spaces.

 

Hard of Hearing

Hearing loops are accessible in our cinema, meeting rooms and learning spaces. Assistance dogs are welcome.

We also offer Hard of Hearing screenings of a range of films.

A braille map of our building is available from our Welcome Desk.

 

Seating

Portable seating is available in our gallery spaces.

 

Toilets

Toilets are available throughout the building, including three disabled toilets. We also offer baby changing facilities in the building.
