At Central Station a former school teacher, who writes letters for illiterate people, and a young boy, whose mother has just died, begin an adventure in search of the boy’s father.
This emotional yet unapologetically comedic journey begins when Dora meets a young woman and her child. The mother wishes to write a scathing letter to the father who has vanished.
But when an accident befalls the mother, Dora who on the verge of poverty goes travelling across Brazil with the now orphan boy she sells off, then unwillingly saves.
The two are looking for Jesus, which is a very common name in Brazil. He is said to be a carpenter who’s loved ones believed that he will return one day, back into their lives…
