Firstsite is the East of England’s contemporary visual arts organisation where you can experience the most exciting developments in contemporary art, and explore the rich artistic legacy cultivated by the East of England’s unique landscape and character.
We are looking to appoint casual Visitor Assistants to our team. Visitor Assistants are the first point of contact for visitors to the galleries – the friendly face of Firstsite. They welcome visitors, respond to their enquiries and engage with them to complete surveys and make donations.
They create a pleasant atmosphere for visitors, combining knowledge of contemporary art with the skills and enthusiasm needed to communicate ideas effectively to our audiences, providing visitors with assistance, offering direction and information.
Part of a close-knit team, the Visitor Assistants support the Duty Managers with all daily duties of operating Firstsite, including open and closing of the galleries and building. They will also help out if required to ensure that the events and other offerings are carried out smoothly. Reliability is key for this role, to ensure Firstsite functions efficiently.
Please see the Job Description for more information.
Please Note: Where we are advertising for Casual Workers you should be aware that this is not the same work arrangement as for contracted employees. There are no set roles or hours/days of work. You are not guaranteed any or a minimum level of work and we are under no obligation to offer you further or particular periods of work.
