Mosaic Membership Terms & Conditions
Benefits from the Mosaic Individual Membership can only be claimed by the named person on the membership card.
Guests attending with a member as part of a Mosaic Member + Guest, must be accompanied by the Mosaic Member in order to enjoy the membership benefits.
The Mosaic individual membership is for a 12 month period and includes:
- unlimited standard cinema tickets (one free ticket per standard cinema film screening)
- 20% discount on live and event cinema tickets, workshops, talks and Firstsite ticketed events (one discounted ticket per cinema film event screening/workshop/talk/event)
- 10% off purchases in our gift shop and café (excludes alcohol purchases in café & sales items in our shop).
The Mosaic Member + Guest membership is for a 12 month period and includes:
- unlimited standard cinema tickets for 2 people (two free ticket per standard cinema film screening)
- 20% discount on live and event cinema tickets, workshops, talks and Firstsite ticketed events for 2 people (two discounted ticket per cinema film event screening/workshop/talk/event)
- 10% off purchases in our gift shop and café (excludes alcohol purchases in café & sales items in our shop).
Members must show a valid membership or temporary membership card to access benefits within the Firstsite building including when purchasing tickets, paying for refreshments in our café or purchases in our gift shop.
Guests must accompany members at the point of entry to the cinema, talk or workshop in order to gain free access, a guest cannot purchase a ticket or attend an event without the member named on the membership account/card.
We reserve the right to request identification to check the membership cards details match those of the person presenting the card.
Live or Event cinema screenings are not included within the unlimited standard cinema ticket offer. Venue hire, catering and alcohol are not included within any membership benefits. Other exclusions may apply.
For some events, the number of discounted tickets available to Members will be capped, to ensure that tickets are available for general sale. Members are not guaranteed access to discounted membership tickets if they’ve sold out.
Membership discounts cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts, such as discounted ticketed events, talks, workshops, and activities that may offered at discount from time to time. Membership discounts cannot be used when purchasing items on sale or discounted within the gallery shop.
Members may book tickets for Firstsite’s cinema, talks, events, workshops, and other activities offered from time to time online via Firstsite’s website. Tickets can also be purchase at Firstsite in person or via the telephone (01206 713700).
You will be required to set up an account with Firstsite to purchase tickets for all ticketed events whether purchased online or in person. Guests attending as part of a Mosaic Member + Guest membership do not require an account as both tickets must be booked on the member’s account. Tickets can be purchased online, via the telephone or in person in advance or on the day of the ticketed event subject to availability.
Where a Firstsite membership package includes free or discounted cinema tickets as part of the membership offer, the member agrees to Firstsite’s cinema terms and conditions as shown on its website: https://firstsite.uk/policies-and-procedures/. This includes a minimum age restriction for children under the age of 12 who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
You may apply for a Mosaic Member, or Mosaic Member + Guest Membership for yourself and/or as a gift membership for any other person by completing the application form on Firstsite’s Website or in person at Firstsite. Each Member may only have one membership subscription for themselves at any time. By applying for a Firstsite membership you are expressly requesting that Firstsite starts the membership immediately on receipt of the email confirming payment and start of the membership period. Gift memberships can be started up to 3 months from the date of purchase, the purchaser can choose the date they want the membership to commence at the time of purchase.
Firstsite will process your application(s) and will confirm that your application is accepted via its website by email.
Firstsite will not refund memberships in part or full or allow them to be transferred to a different person. This includes renewed memberships with a future start date and gift membership purchases.
You can cancel your automatic renewal by logging into your online account and unticking the automatic renewal in the membership section of your account. Or by emailing [email protected] before the membership expiry date. We won’t retrospectively refund the membership fee once the membership has automatically renewed.
By applying for a Firstsite membership you confirm and warrant that:
- You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract with Firstsite and its membership offer;
- You are at least 16 years old;
- the Member is resident in the UK or Ireland
- if you are buying a Firstsite gift membership for someone else they must be at least 16 years old.
The Firstsite Mosaic Individual and + Guest Memberships are not currently eligible for Gift Aid, but there are other ways to support Firstsite which can be viewed at our Make a Donation page. New membership options in future may be eligible for Gift Aid information about how Gift Aid may apply will be provided where applicable.
Firstsite may amend or withdraw any benefits or discounted tickets at any time. Firstsite reserves the right to cancel a membership without refund if you break the terms and conditions of membership.
Firstsite processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Firstsite will process personal data only for the purposes of setting up a member on a membership scheme, to communicate with the individual about the scheme and future offers, process ticket and payment transactions through our ticketing system. Firstsite may be closed on a permanent or temporary basis from time to time, including for refurbishment or due to a Force Majeure Event (as described below). Details of such closures can be found on Firstsite’s Website. Firstsite will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance, that is caused by events outside its reasonable control (Force Majeure Event), including any act, event, non-happening, omission, or accident which may be due to the following:
- Strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action;
- Civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war or threat or preparation for war;
- Fire, explosion, adverse weather, snow fall, ice, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, pandemic or other natural disaster;
- Disruption to or failure of the railways, motor transport or other means of public or private transport;
- Disruption to or failure of public or private telecommunications networks, the internet or utility supplies;
- Closure or limited access to Firstsite on the grounds of reasonable health and safety concerns, shortage of supplies, staff or essential utilities or services;
- Any governmental guidance/recommendation, act, decree, legislation, regulation, or restriction;
The membership agreement with Firstsite and any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with it (including non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
