A poem written in biro on a sheet of toilet paper

This might be art: A poem in praise of the toilet roll 6th April 2020

Art is where the home is

Oh dimple patterned paper roll
With trails that trace a comet’s tail
The whiteness of your paper soul
Appears as milk and cloudy pale

The strength of your internal core
Relied on when the roll runs thin
Like coconut built in reverse
A hidden brownness deep within
