A collaboration with flyingleaps, an organisation that commissions artists to create posters in response to contemporary politics, events and ideas.

Initially installed on public billboards and street sites, the designs aim to create a thought provoking pause in an environment that is often cluttered with advertising and commercial imagery.

This Firstsite presentation includes posters designed by artists Magda Archer, Dolores De Sade, Jeremy Deller, Dr. D, Heath Kane, kennardphillips, Oddly Head, Simon Roberts and Mark Titchner.

flyingleaps: Art on the streets is part of Firstsite’s programme theme of Conflict and Culture. It is exhibited alongside Not Yet At Ease, by Delhi based artists Raqs Media Collective. Co-commissioned by Firstsite and 14-18 NOW, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary, Not Yet At Ease is an ambitious project exploring the interlinked histories of war, poetry and mental health.

Signed, limited edition prints of ‘I Remember the Future’ (2018) by Dr. D and ‘Please Believe These Days Will Pass’ (2016) by Mark Titchner will be available to purchase in the Firstsite shop.
