Remember a loved one
Celebrate their life through the lasting power of art and creativity
When someone important to us is no longer here, what remains are the memories, moments, and meaning they brought into our lives.
Whether they found joy in art, culture or the moments you shared together, we offer personal and lasting ways to remember someone special while helping us inspire future generations through creativity.
By supporting Firstsite in memory of someone special, you can honour their life while helping others discover the inspiration, connection and joy that art and culture can bring.
Your gift in memory helps keep our exhibitions free, supports artists to create work, nurtures creativity in children and young people, and ensures everyone can experience the transformative power of art.
Ways to remember a loved one:
Adopt a seat
For many people, the cinema is more than just a place to watch films. It’s where first dates happened, favourite stories were shared, families gathered, and unforgettable moments were made.
By adopting a seat in memory of someone special, you can create a lasting tribute in a place where stories continue to be told every day.
A personalised plaque displayed on our cinema seats offers family and friends somewhere to visit and remember them, while helping others experience the magic of cinema for years to come.
Adopt a SeatCreate a tribute page
When someone we love passes away, the memories we shared become even more precious.
We work in partnership with Much Loved, the UK’s leading in-memory platform, to offer a free online tribute service where you can celebrate someone’s life and support Firstsite in their memory.
A tribute page is a special online space where friends and family can come together to share stories, upload photos, light virtual candles and make donations in memory of a loved one.
Create a TributeGive in their memory
Celebrate the life of someone special by making a donation to Firstsite in their name.
A gift in memory is a meaningful way to celebrate someone whose love of art, creativity or community continues to inspire others.
Whether you choose to make a single donation, give regularly or ask for donations in lieu of flowers, your support helps us continue to create opportunities for people of all ages to experience free exhibitions, discover artists, and take part in creative activities.
We’d love to hear about the person you are remembering and what supporting Firstsite means to you.
Once you’ve made your donation, please let us know at inmemory@firstsite.uk, so we can thank you.
Make a DonationFuneral collections
You may wish to hold a funeral collection in remembrance of your loved one, in place of flowers or other gifts.
We can provide donation envelopes and guidance to help make this as simple as possible, or you can set up an online collection in memory of your loved one.
Collections can be returned directly to us, or your funeral director may be able to help organise this on your behalf.
