Get making during our Holiday Fun: Make session with a variety of free creative activities at Firstsite this May.

 

Most suitable for those aged 4 – 11 yrs, but all ages welcome.

Drop-in anytime between 10am – 2:30pm from Tuesday to Saturday to take part.

No need to book for our Make sessions.

Adults required to stay.

Make Your Brain Rebecca Riess

Inspired by ‘Lossless’, join exhibiting artist Rebecca Riess to explore what your brain looks like, and how it can look after the planet it lives on using pencils and pens, paint, and recycled materials!

 
Tue 26 May
Giant Nature Mosaic — Elaine Tribley

Build a giant mosaic with Elaine Tribley using found materials and hand-shaped berries and petals. The workshop will be using reclaimable clay and natural materials that can safely be returned to the earth.

 
Wed 27 May
Collage Mobiles — Clare Sams

Clare Sams will show you how to create collage mobiles. Using paper straws, embroidery thread, and recycled collage materials – the possibilities are endless!

 
Thu 28 May
Eco-Farm — Sue Gascoyne

Work with Sue Gascoyne to make your own plant or animal sculptures using a variety of waste materials. Throughout the day, we’ll display all of our sculptures together to build an ‘Eco-Farm’!

 
Fri 29 May
Eco-Warriors from the Bin! — Iris Dina Gonnarsdottir

In this workshop with Iris Dina Gonnarsdottir, we’ll be creating Eco-warriors using what we can find in the recycle bin. Each Eco-warrior will save a different part of climate change, such as an air protector, a tree hero, or even a waste guardian!

MiniBeast Bugs Nicola Burrell

Come and create a three dimensional ‘minibeast bug’ with Nicola Burrell using cardboard. Fold, cut and stick a fascinating shape. Decorate stripes, wiggles and spots with Posca pens to bring your bugs to life!

 

Our Holiday Fun activities are for families facing economic challenges or who require additional support during the school holidays, including those that qualify for benefits-based free school meals.
