Join Tai Chi instructor Lu Yu for these beginner-friendly sessions for this Summer Holiday Fun!

Through playful and gentle movements you will build flexibility, balance, muscle strength, confidence and focus while enjoying a fun, relaxing activity that supports your wellbeing.

Tai Chi is suitable for the whole family including children from 4 to 11 years old. Tickets must be purchased in advance for children to participate.

Caregivers are required to stay on site throughout the activities, and are welcome to join in the fun on the day if there is space to join. 

Activities take place outside. Please make sure those taking part in activities are dressed appropriately for the weather and are wearing comfortable clothing and shoes.

These sessions are not sport specific because the focus is on teaching children the core skills for any sport through a fun and relaxed environment.

Our Holiday Fun activities are for families facing economic challenges or who require additional support during the school holidays, including those that qualify for benefits-based free school meals.

Early bird tickets are on sale from 9am on Tue 14 July 2026. More tickets will be released three days in advance of each session.

Bookings can be made by selecting a date at the bottom of this page, or by calling 01206 713 700. Spaces are limited, offered on a first come, first served basis.

Please note there is no parking available at Firstsite, however there are car parks nearby, and Colchester Town Centre is well serviced by public transport. How to get here

If you can no longer attend your booking…

Please let us know as soon as possible if you can’t attend your booking by emailing info@firstsite.uk or by calling 01206 713 700. If you or your child feels unwell on the day of an event, we ask that you please don’t attend.

If you contact us 24 hours before the event your space can be made available for another family. Thank you!
