In My Father’s Shadow, two young brothers Aki and Remi explore Lagos with their estranged father Folarin, during the 1993 Nigerian election crisis, a period of political turmoil that spread across the city.
They witness both the city’s magnitude and their father’s daily struggles as political unrest threatens their journey home.
During the uncertainty and danger, their trip home becomes both a physical challenge and an emotional reckoning for the family.
