Punk Posca Patch Making
Saturday 31 January 2026
Punk Posca Patch Making explores punk-inspired designs as you create custom patches using Posca paint pens and mixed materials.
Held during the opening weekend of Sue Webster: Birth of an Icon exhibition, the session focuses on bold visual language, graphic imagery and personal symbolism drawn from music, identity and popular culture.
Working on faux leather surfaces, you will experiment with colour, text and iconography to produce a distinctive patch that reflects individual interests and influences.
Experience how punk aesthetics use DIY making, rebellion and self expression as creative tools, encouraging direct, instinctive mark making and playful material exploration.
You’ll also have the opportunity to use a range of shapes, colours and embellishments!
Basic materials provided. Food and drink is also available for purchase throughout the session from our cafes. This workshop is suitable for ages 11+.

What is punk-inspired patch making?
Punk patch making is a DIY art practice rooted in punk culture and countercultural movements.
Traditionally used to customise clothing and accessories, patches act as visual statements that communicate identity, beliefs and musical influences.
The process combines illustration, graphic design and craft, often favouring hand-drawn marks, bold colour and expressive typography over polished finishes.
