S&B Colchester is back for 2024 and ready to introduce you to a whole load of crafts!
Join your hosts, local artists Amy & Meg to try out a different textile based technique each month in these fun, free taster sessions for adults.
Perhaps you’ve always wanted to try out beading? You’re mad about Pom Poms, or crazy for patchwork – these monthly workshops will give you the chance to give these crafts a go.
The sessions are aimed at beginners and improvers. We would especially like to encourage attendance of people from low income households, but everyone is welcome.
Materials will be provided but if you have your own craft stash then please feel free to bring it along.
Your hosts will be on hand to guide you along the way. Our sessions will be held every second Thursday of each month.
Each session will have a different theme, but you are welcome to bring along your own project to work on independently.
8 Aug – Beginners Knitting
12 Sep – Paper Pattern Patchwork
10 Oct – All about Beads
14 Nov – Fantastic Felt
About S&B Colchester
We’re an informal crafty club that meets once a month. The group was established in 2011 as an excuse to get our stitch on with local like-minded people.
S&B is for everyone who wants to learn, improve or show off their textile crafting skills. We are passionate about learning new crafts, making fun stuff and sharing it with each other & the world!
Colchester Borough Council’s Cultural & Creative Events Fund and our new venue have generously supported our series of 6 monthly workshops.
Thanks to their support, these workshops are free to attend.
Our group leaders Amy & Meg also deliver workshops for Firstsite & Essex County Council, and fees from these go into funding S&B too.
To keep these events free please support Firstsite by purchasing refreshments from our café. We offer a wide selection of delicious snacks, cakes and light meals, along with hot and cold drinks which can be purchased to enjoy during your workshop.
Find out more about our menus here
Donations to Firstsite are also welcome.
