The Art Of Upcycling: Reinvent Your Old Clothes
Saturday 11 July 2026
Transform old clothing and accessories into expressive wearable art in this creative Artcycling workshop with textile artist Sue.
Using stitch, collage, appliqué, and embroidery techniques, you will learn how to personalise and reimagine garments and fabrics while exploring sustainable approaches to fashion and making.
During the workshop, you will bring your own tie, bag, or item of clothing to customise, or select from a small range of ties provided by the artist.
Guided step by step, you will explore design planning, colour, texture, and embellishment techniques to transform everyday items into unique wearable pieces.
Through hands-on experimentation and demonstrations, you will learn the basics of textile collage, embroidery, appliqué, composition, and colour while developing confidence in creative stitching and sustainable textile practices.
Participants will leave with a personalised wearable artwork and new skills in textile upcycling.
No previous sewing or art experience is required, making this workshop suitable for beginners and the art curious.
Basic materials provided. Food and drink is also available for purchase throughout the session from our cafés.
This workshop is suitable for ages 14+.
