Holiday Fun Family Stories
Najma's story
Our Holiday Fun programme has transformed Najma’s family life, giving them a creative outlet, new opportunities, and a sense of community. Over the past five years, they’ve grown in confidence and creativity through free activities like arts and crafts, learning from local artists, and fun movement sessions.
Najma has also rekindled her own love for creativity, blending her background in literature with the artistic experiences she shares with her children.
Najma says: “Attending Holiday Fun, has encouraged my family to be more creative by having a go and giving things a chance even if the tasks are challenging.”

When she moved to Colchester from Ukraine, Natalie struggled to find affordable activities for her kids. Joining the programme gave Natalie and her children a safe, welcoming space where her son could enjoy creative activities and movement sessions – all completely free.

Inspired by the support, Natalie decided to join the Holiday Fun team, growing professionally while helping other families facing similar challenges.
