Frances (Chloë Grace Moretz) is riding the New York subway when she happens upon a green handbag. Tracing its owner, she is lead to Greta (Isabelle Huppert), a lonely widow who Frances feels compelled to keep company.

But appearances can be deceiving, and when Frances’s kindness is rewarded with increasingly unsettling behaviour from Greta.

Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Mona Lisa) directs this thriller, bringing a deliciously wicked performance from Huppert, playing against Moretz’s surprisingly realistic victim of stalking.

“The pace seldom lags, the cinematography is luscious, and a dream sequence has a clever twist.” ★★★ – London Evening Standard

“Huppert takes the neuroses of her troubled characters in ‘The Piano Teacher’ and ‘She’ and amps them up a notch.” ★★★ – Time Out

“It’s a nail-biter that sends ice down the spine and proves that in the hands of a master director, any genre is capable of achieving new heights of imagination.” – Observer
