Each Art Fair will feature a variety of exciting activities, including:
- A display of original artworks
- Opportunities to network with other artists and art enthusiasts
- Portfolio surgeries
- Live demonstrations and hands-on workshops
- Guided tours of the Firstsite gallery to immerse yourself in our exhibitions
Entry is free, but you will need to purchase tickets to participate in the live demonstrations and workshops. If you would like to attend a Portfolio Surgery session you would also need to book a time-slot.

The Art Of Upcycling: Reinvent Your Old Clothes – Sat, 11 Jul | 10:30am
Transform old clothing and accessories into expressive wearable art in this creative Artcycling workshop with textile artist Sue.
This workshop is suitable for ages 14+.

Watercolour Workshop – Sat, 11 Jul | 10:30am
Explore the materials, techniques and colour theory used to develop watercolour paintings and meet other watercolour lovers in this relaxed social session of “Water Worlds”.
During each workshop session a different subject will be provided for you to paint.
This workshop is suitable for ages 16+.

Gallery Tour – Godfried Donkor: It’s a Number Game – Sat, 11 Jul | 1pm
Visit our major exhibition, Godfried Donkor: It’s a Numbers Game, and enrich your experience with a guided Gallery Tour led by a Firstsite Visitor Assistant. These tours offer a fresh and engaging way to explore what’s on display, shaped by the individual perspective of each guide.
Each tour lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Gain confidence in drawing the figure, with these tutored sessions on some basic principles of life drawing.

Window To The Soul: Immersive Virtual Gallery Experience – Sat, 11 Jul | 2pm
Join XRtist Hannah Aria for a unique immersive virtual gallery experience that builds a bridge between worlds.
The Window to the Soul immersive gallery is a virtual exhibition with international collaborators in regions of conflict, showcasing artwork, poetry and creative writing from women and girls from Afghanistan who are based both in the UK and Afghanistan.
