First Thursdays is a monthly festival with events throughout Colchester city centre organised by Creative Colchester.

Come out and experience some of the fantastic local artistic talent which we have on offer!  There is creativity around every corner on the first Thursday of every month.

The festival will celebrate the city’s vibrant and diverse cultural scene, and will see venues across the city thrown open for the community, with fantastic performances, workshops and interactive experiences, all free to attend.

Thu 4 Sep, 7:00pm – 8:30pm- Daisy Diamond’s Burlesque Class (Neurodivergent Friendly)

Unleash your inner diva! Join us for a body confidence burlesque class designed to make you feel fabulous from the inside out. We’ll begin with a playful warm-up, then strut into learning how to walk with sass and style.

Together, we’ll dive into a short routine with the option to perform for one another in a supportive, encouraging space.

Thu 4 Sep, 7:00pm – 8:30pm- Music & Menopause Wellbeing Workshop 

Join local composer Georgina St. George, performer Sofia Ferreira and writer/director Heather Davis for a creative music workshop centred around menopause experiences.

The session will include listening to music, actor performance of songs and lyric writing inspired by the new production ‘Fresh Knickers (And a Gin & Tonic). No prior experience of music necessary.
