Come out and experience some of the fantastic local artistic talent which we have on offer!  There is creativity around every corner on the first Thursday of every month.

First Thursdays is a monthly festival with events throughout Colchester city centre organised by Creative Colchester.

The festival will celebrate the city’s vibrant and diverse cultural scene, and will see venues across the city thrown open for the community, with fantastic performances, workshops and interactive experiences, all free to attend.

Thu 2 May, 6:00pm – 7:30pm, Café – Mindful Mending

Join Textile artist Clare Sams to explore the art of mindful mending in a relaxed and supportive environment. Try your hand at ‘honeycomb darning’ and learn to use a ‘darning mushroom’ to repair worn and damaged fabrics. All materials and equipment provided, but you are welcome to bring textile items needing repair to the event.

Audience warnings: Use of sharp objects- scissors, pins, needles

You are invited to embark on an adventure with Fates Fortune. Together we’ll explore this age old divination using a fresh take on tarot cards through the power of immersive theatre.
