Safeguarding

Firstsite endeavours to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Key staff members are trained in safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults, and will follow the SET (Southend, Essex and Thurrock) Child Protection Procedures if abuse or neglect is suspected or reported.

Any concerns regarding the welfare of children or vulnerable adults will be shared with the parents/carers and other appropriate agencies. In situations where the child or vulnerable adult is suspected to be at risk of harm, we will approach these agencies without informing parents/carers. This information will be shared securely and sensitively, and only when it is deemed necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of a child or vulnerable adult.
