Tom (Sam Riley) is a tennis coach at a mid-range hotel resort in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, where he has spent nearly a decade drifting through a life of alcohol, drugs, and casual encounters.
Once nicknamed ‘Ace’ after a brief encounter with Rafael Nadal, Tom now struggles with aimlessness and mounting dissatisfaction.
His routine is disrupted when he becomes intrigued by a British couple, Anne (Stacy Martin) and Dave (Jack Farthing), who hire him to give private lessons to their son Anton (Dylan Torrell).
As he shows them around the island and spends time with them, the encounter takes unexpected and unsettling turns, challenging Tom’s perception of his own life and choices on the Islands.
