Thu 08 May (Evening Session) – Ink and wax resist
As evening falls we will use ink washes over wax resist to create atmospheric drawings of the model in the studio.
Sat 17 May – Acrylic grisaille painting.
Paint the form and tone of the figure using only mixtures of black and white.
What is life drawing?
During a life drawing session, there will be a nude model surrounded by artists. This is why the classes are limited to ages 18+. The model will be posing for different durations. The poses can vary from 2 minutes to 10 minutes and an hour.
You will be drawing the human form in various poses and levels of detail from highly detailed and anatomically proportional drawings to loose and expressive sketches. Find out more about what happens in a life drawing class here.
About the artist – Justine Moss (she/her)
I am an artist, educator and collector of wonderful things. I use drawing and watercolour to make sensitive, detailed or implicative studies of subjects including clothes, nature and the figure. I am currently completing a PhD on drawing garments in film. I run a thriving life-drawing group and lead community art workshops for adults.
I have lived in East Anglia for fifteen years and worked in art education across the region, from Southend to Great Yarmouth.
