Please help us support projects like Holiday Fun

Our Holiday Fun Programme runs throughout the school holidays to provide families facing financial challenges or social isolation with a free, happy day out at Firstsite where they can get creative, eat a nutritious meal and enjoy physical activity.

Around 1 in 5 families with children have experienced food insecurity in the last month – living without reliable access to enough affordable, nutritious, healthy food for their family*.

Demand for Holiday Fun is already incredibly high, but with the cost of living crisis deepening and the cost of food increasing, more and more families are relying on our services.

Your support will make a difference

Your donation could help us reach and support even more families and continue to deliver much needed support through projects like Holiday Fun, as well keep our exhibitions free for everyone.

As a charity, we rely on donations from visitors and purchases from our shop, café, and cinema, so that we can support our community and provide the best art, culture and creativity for everyone.

First for Fun

Our Holiday Fun programme runs during the school holidays to help children and their care givers stay happy, healthy and tackle social isolation.

Holiday Fun helps families to spend time together in a safe, comfortable and inclusive space, where they can enjoy a meal, relax, explore and have fun.

We deliver over 100 meals a day during Holiday Fun. So far we have provided over 19,000 meals,  and welcomed hundreds of families to our gallery for the first time, where they have also taken part in free art and sport activities. Since starting in 2017, over 2,000 families have taken part in this programme.

First for Community

We collaborate with our community to curate projects featuring artworks from the Arts Council Collection – bringing all different people together to create experiences and exhibitions to inspire, unite and empower us all.

First for Art

We bring world-class exhibitions to East Anglia, producing nationally significant projects with some of the world’s best artists, including Antony Gormley, Lubaina Himid,  Grayson Perry and Gillian Wearing – always for free, always for everyone

Please help us continue this work and so much more...

Your support can help us:

  • Expand our canteen so even more people can access our free meals, and run this for as long as it’s needed in our community
  • Work on more ways for more people to access and benefit from incredible artworks
We are determined to keep these projects running but we need your support to do this.

Please consider a donation, of whatever you can afford, and know that by donating to us, you can help even more families in need access free meals and support from our Holiday Fun project, and help more people to experience the benefits of art and culture so that we can all find creative solutions to the world we find in front of us.

Together we can ensure art and creativity is here to help our community come through the cost of living crisis, and emerge stronger and more resilient than ever.

Thank you.
